Irrigation You Can Trust.

Spring start-ups, head adjustments, leak repairs, controller programming, and fall winterization. Most lawns don't fail from neglect — they fail from a sprinkler head pointing the wrong way for three seasons. We fix the small things before they cost you a lawn.

Most Irrigation Problems Are Small

Nine out of ten irrigation calls we run are not 'replace the whole system.' They're a clogged head, a sunk head, a misaligned spray pattern, a leaking valve, or a controller programmed for a 2018 schedule that hasn't been touched since. Fixed for $80–$250 most of the time.

We service most major controller brands (Rain Bird, Hunter, Rachio, Toro) and most standard head types. We don't do new full-system installs — that's a different specialty — but we keep what you have working correctly so your lawn actually gets the water it needs and nothing more.

What We Service

Our irrigation work covers the everyday issues that decide whether a system works or wastes money. We focus on tune-up and repair, not new installs.

Spring Start-Up

Pressurize the system, check every zone, identify and replace broken or clogged heads, adjust spray patterns, and reprogram the controller for the season. Catches most problems before the summer heat exposes them.

Head Adjustments & Repairs

Sunken heads raised. Misaligned heads re-aimed (so they're watering grass, not sidewalk). Broken heads replaced. Clogged nozzles cleaned. Zones that hiss instead of spray get diagnosed.

Leak Diagnosis & Repair

Wet spot in the yard? Constantly-running zone? We trace the leak — usually a cracked pipe at a valve box or a stuck solenoid. Repaired in plain numbers, not 'time and materials' surprises.

Fall Winterization

Drain the system before the first hard freeze (typically mid-November in the Upstate). Prevents cracked pipes and busted valves over winter — the most expensive failures we see, and 100% preventable.

Honest, Up-Front Pricing

Most irrigation service calls run $80–$250 depending on what's wrong. Spring start-up with full system check is typically $135–$185 for a standard residential system. Winterization is $90–$140. Repair work (head replacement, leak fix) is quoted on the spot in plain numbers — no 'shop minimums' or hidden trip fees.

Irrigation Service Area

Irrigation service runs the same Upstate area as our weekly lawn crews. Service is scheduled by appointment so we can give the system the time it needs — usually 60–90 minutes for a tune-up, longer for diagnostic or repair work.

Irrigation FAQ

How much does irrigation service cost in Greenville, SC?

Spring start-ups with full system check run $135–$185 for a standard residential system. Fall winterization is $90–$140. Specific repairs (head replacement, leak fix, valve repair) typically run $80–$250 each, quoted on the spot before we touch anything.

Do you install new irrigation systems?

No. Full new-system installs require trenching, design, and permitting — a different specialty than what we run. We focus on servicing, tuning, and repairing the systems you already have. If you need a new install, we'll point you to an irrigation contractor we trust.

What controllers do you service?

All the standard residential controllers: Rain Bird, Hunter, Rachio, Toro, and most older models. Smart controllers (Rachio, Hunter Hydrawise) get programmed properly for your zones and soil type. Older mechanical controllers we'll get running — or recommend replacing if it's beyond economic repair.

When should I have my irrigation winterized?

In the Upstate, schedule winterization for late October to mid-November — before the first hard freeze. Frozen water in pipes is the most expensive failure we see, and it's 100% preventable. Most customers book a recurring fall slot and forget about it.

My system runs but my lawn has dry spots. What's wrong?

Almost always a head problem — either a clogged head, a sunken head (grass grew over it), or a head aimed at a sidewalk instead of the lawn. We walk the property zone-by-zone, watch each one run, and find the gap. Fixable in a single visit on most properties.

My water bill jumped. Could it be the irrigation?

Yes, and probably. Common culprits: a stuck valve (a zone running 24/7), a leak at a valve box, or a controller programmed for two start times instead of one. We can diagnose in under an hour on most systems.

Do you handle backflow testing?

Backflow tests for irrigation systems are regulated by the local water utility and require a certified backflow tester. We don't do the certification ourselves, but we'll refer you to a certified tester and we can do the prep work (servicing the backflow assembly) before the test.

Can you set up smart watering schedules?

Yes. If you have a smart controller (Rachio, Hunter Hydrawise, Rain Bird ESP-Me, etc.), we program it for your zones, soil type, slope, and grass type. The right schedule uses 20–40% less water than the default 'run everything 20 minutes' setting most systems ship with.

Pair this with the rest of the property: lawn maintenance, fertilization & weed control, shrub & tree care, or irrigation. One crew, one call. Learn more about LawnSkapers or send us a message.
