Landscape Design That Lasts.

Thoughtful planting plans, fresh beds, and clean edging that transform tired yards into properties that turn heads — built for the Upstate climate and middle-class budgets.

Built for Upstate Yards

A good landscape isn't about exotic species you can't pronounce. It's about plants that survive Upstate summers, beds that hold their shape through a thunderstorm, and edging that still looks crisp in October.

We design with what grows here — Knockout roses, loropetalum, dwarf nandina, liriope, encore azaleas, dwarf hollies, and the ornamental grasses that hold up to August heat. Crews are local, so the install accounts for clay soil, slopes, drainage paths, and which side of the house gets afternoon sun.

What a Landscape Job Includes

Every install starts with a walk-through and a plain-numbers quote. Then the work happens in this order:

Site Walk & Plan

We walk the property with you, listen to what's not working, and sketch a plan you'll actually use. Photos and a written scope — no fancy CAD invoices.

Bed Prep & Soil

Old plants out, soil amended where it's tired, weed barrier laid where it makes sense, fresh edge cut. The boring step that decides whether the install lasts five years or five months.

Plant Install

Plants set with proper spacing for full size — not jammed in to look full on day one. Each plant placed for the right sun, water, and visual line from the house.

Mulch & Finish

Fresh hardwood mulch at 2–3 inches, never piled against trunks. Clean lines between bed and lawn. Driveway, walks, and porch blown off before we leave.

Honest, Up-Front Pricing

Landscape work scales with scope — a single bed refresh is a few hundred dollars; a full front-yard redesign with new plant material, edging, and mulch runs into the thousands. We quote the work in plain numbers, walk you through the line items, and stick to the number unless the scope changes. No design-fee surprises, no plant-markup tricks.

Landscape Design Service Area

Landscape design and install work runs the same Upstate routes as our weekly lawn crews. If we mow your neighborhood, we can plant your beds. If we don't, ask anyway — the install crew covers a slightly wider radius than the routine routes.

Landscape Design FAQ

How much does landscape design cost in Greenville, SC?

Small bed refreshes (mulch, edging, a few plants) typically run $400–$900. Full bed redesigns with new plantings start around $1,500 and scale with plant count and bed size. Full front-yard installs typically land $3,500–$8,500. We quote in plain numbers after a walk-through.

Do you design AND install, or just install?

Both. We do the design walk-through and the install with the same crew, so the plan and the execution match. We don't sub out the install to a third-party crew who's never seen the plan.

What plants do you recommend for Upstate SC?

We default to plants that survive Upstate summers and clay soil: Knockout roses, loropetalum, dwarf nandina, encore azaleas, dwarf hollies, liriope, ornamental grasses, and seasonal annuals for color. We can absolutely plant something specific — we just want it to live.

Do you do hardscape — patios, retaining walls, stonework?

Hard hardscape (full patios, structural retaining walls) is outside our core. We do bed edging, paver borders, stepping-stone paths, and small decorative stonework. For bigger hardscape projects, we'll point you to a hardscape specialist.

When's the best time to install landscaping in SC?

Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are ideal — cooler soil, less stress on new plants. Summer installs work too if we plan irrigation properly. Winter installs are limited to evergreen shrubs and trees.

Do you offer maintenance after the install?

Yes — most install customers add weekly or biweekly lawn service plus seasonal bed maintenance. Mulch refresh is typically annual. Pruning is twice a year for most shrubs.

Can you work with an existing landscape designer's plan?

Yes. If you already have a plan from a designer or architect, we can install from those drawings. We'll do a walk-through to confirm the scope and quote from there.

Do you guarantee the plants?

Plants installed by us are warranted for 90 days assuming you're watering per our instructions. If something fails despite proper care, we replace it at our cost. Plants that fail from neglect or pest pressure outside our work aren't covered.

Pair this with the rest of the property: lawn maintenance, fertilization & weed control, shrub & tree care, or irrigation. One crew, one call. Learn more about LawnSkapers or send us a message.
